Glass Plates /

Double Negatives

2019 - 2020

Glass Plates / Double Negatives uses three-dimensional molds made from abused and discarded vernacular photographs to replicate, in cast glass, the contours of the image with all of their scratches, tears, inscriptions, and mendings. The glass reproduction of the photographic object is circuitously returned to the darkroom where it is used as a glass plate “negative” to make a light-sensitive impression of its own physicality as a photogram.
