The camera captures people holding a photograph of personal significance. The camera’s images are then processed using photogrammetry software to render a 3-dimensional model that strips them of their indexical surface. This creates an image that is undeniably photographic, but one that is also plagued by an emptiness that results from lacking one of photography’s essential characteristics.
