Hans Gindlesberger (Milwaukee, WI) uses photography and its related technologies to create projects that critically examine the ways we are a part of, and apart from, the places we belong to. His projects explore documentary and staged photography, narrative and experimental video, book arts, the pre-cinematic moving image, and interactive installation. He is the recipient of national and international awards and grants, including a 2008 Fellowship from the New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA). He earned his MFA in Photography from the State University of New York at Buffalo. Currently, he holds the position of Adjunct Assistant Professor and Area Head of Photography at the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee.
